Non synthetic 5-30 or 10-30. I use high quality oil, as i read somewhere that a higher quality oil will help speed up the break in process and gives you the best chance of getting good ring seal and everything seats well.

Do NOT use synthetic oils for break in.

Yeah I know not to use Syn, but what about brand wise. I got some DINO penzoil 5w30 is that gonna be good enough.

I ran pennzoil on my motor and it only lasted 130 miles. I think it caused my cam to warp and tear apart my head sending powdered aluminum throughout my motor. Ill never use that stuff again!

Actually, im not sure about pennzoil. Something i read after my motor blew about it sludging up pretty bad. To many additives or something.

Do your own research though, the information i just gave you(garbage) should be considered as nothing more than an excuse for you to do your own research on Pennzoil.

I use Supertech. Its cheap as hell, so you can change it often, and its actually a damn good dino oil.

I use 10w30 autozone oil for my break-in. I still haven't finished breaking in that engine but, i have beat the hell out of it for the 250 miles i have put on her.

I agree. I do also believe that Wally World subsidizes Mobil to make the stuff. It comes out of Texas, which is where Mobil has a refinery/plant. I believe it to be right on par with the 'Clean 5000' they offer. A detergent dino oil.

On a side note, we broke my buddy's 351w twin T3/T4 beast in with 15w-40 Rotella and no issues with that. (diesel oil)
