I've was running Valvoline Durablend and now Synpower. I've been very happy with both. I run 10w40 in the PA summers, 10w30 in the fall and then 5w30 once winter hits.PalmerWMD wrote:Oil: If cleanliness is a concern for you run either Mobil Drive Clean or Valvoline Durablend.
Royal Purple blows in my transmission, barely goes in first gear from a dead stop, 5 gear grinds when shifting into above 60mph. Redline solved all these problems. VLSD works better with redline also.RedRum240 wrote:Royal Purple everything.

You are SOOOOOO freggin right about that! I have Royal Purple right now and it does the SAME exact thing! Now that I have a real solution to this problem its off to the auto store!
I agree with him. Royal Purple is the best. i use it in everything. from oil, to radiator fluid, to gear fluid. i use to use Mobil 1 syntheic performance 15w50. but i like royal purple better.RedRum240 wrote:Royal Purple everything.
I'd use 5w30 or possibly 5w40 synthetic. I don't think you'll want to be running 10w40 when temperatures drop below or approach 0°F. I think that would be pretty rough for cold starts.Spec-R wrote:So...what oil should we use for the winter?? i live in Philly, is 10 w40 good? or should i get something different?
