I have been using Castrol for years in my 92 Q. Just wondering if there are others to consider, either positively or otherwise.

ThanksKen K

Mobil 1 5w-30 for the first 100,000 miles at 90 day/5000 mile max. change intervals

Redline 5w-30,10w-30,10w-40 depending on season from 100,000 til now{197,300} changed at 90 day/max 6500 mile intervals

Ditto. Castrol GTX 10-40 in all my cars for the last 35 years. I used to buy it by the case (1 qt. x 24) now you can get it in a 5 qt. jug at WalMart. Very convenient. IMHO, If you keep close to the 3000 mile oil change interval on any car it doesn't make any difference what kind of (name brand) motor oil you use.

M1 leaves engines cleaner than any conventional oil I have seen, but my experience is limited. 10W-30 most of the time, with 1 or 2 qt. of 15W-50 in the TX summer.

Valvoline DuraBlend, been very happy with it for years. Has (according to a "oil know it all" ) some of the most detergents of any oil.

Ive been using M1 clean 7500 (the durablend equivalent) with a purolator pure 1 filter. Used 10w30 this time, will probably go to a 40 weight next time since I have a tiny bit of oil consumption, i usually have to top off 1/2 quart or so once in the OCI.

It is not "M1 5000" or "m1 7500.".............it is m 5000 or m7500.............M1 stands for Mobil 1-their synthetic oil line{debatable whether it is still a group 4 true full synthetic}
