Factory and the dealer both go with 3750 miles. To me, that seems a little to long, especially with non-synthetic oil. My dealer uses chevron oil. If I have the oil changed at 3000 miles I will end up paying once in a while as they only offer free oil changes at the recommended 3750 mile interval.

Should I be concerned about 3750 miles on chevron oil and the factory filter?

You get free changes at 3,750 miles? And if not, then you have to pay yourself? How many free changes are we talking about? I always change the oil at 3,000 miles, regardless of oil/filter used.

Free oil changes for the life of the car, using their oil (Currently Chevron). The oil change interval for the free service is supposed to be between 3500 and 3750 miles. If I go in too early (say 3000 miles) I think they will charge me once in a while, which would be fine. I just think 3750 miles is too long for a non-synthetic oil.

I might consider doing my oil changes at home every 3000 miles and then taking the car in for the 15/30/45/60000 mile services, which I have already paid for. I want to keep the 100,000 warranty intact but don't want to stretch the oil to 3750 miles.

Well, the car is set to 3,750 miles by default at the factory. Most newer oils can last for 3,750 miles and for even 5,000 miles. I would just get it changed there since you have free oil changes for life.

Change it at 3750. No problemo. If you switch to synthetic you can go longer if you wish.

I change mine 4K with reg oil. That's just me because I'm lazy and I usually have to find the time to work on my car. Takes me about 20-25 minutes because I have to jack it up, take the wheel off and remove the well to access the filter Whatever happened to the simple roll under you car and unscrew the filter. Seems to get more and more complicated these days. Especially with everything being run off of some kind of sensor this or module that.

Sorry, just had to rant a little about how difficult they make a simple oil change

I am now at a 6000 mile change interval. I am using full synthetic and will be sending a sample of oil from my next change for analysis. It takes me about 1 hour to get to work so 85% of my driving is highway so my oil gets warmed fully every day and can burn off all the condensation. My last car was an 02 Camry with the V6 known for sludge problems. I had it on a 10000 mile change interval and it is still running fine (my kids have it).

Thanks to all of you. Your input has given me a lot to help with making my decision. I think I will change to castrol before going to a 3750 mile interval.
