42? 35?

i could buy a set of wheels but the offset is 42...after doing some searching i realized 42 might be too much.

Yes 35 and 42 are too high. Something in the 20's should be good.

Hmm I think 40 negative is a 72 Chevelle dragster? LOL

Need to decide what size, tall, width and if you want the tucked in the fender or hanging out. These are 16X7 with +38. Sorry for the dirt, is been stoming here..

17x9 +0 all the way around w/ some over fenders in the front.

+38 is def not flush w/ the fender hoss... the tire plus a non-lowered/non-cambered suspension jus gives it that illusion. to be flush w/ the fender, and not have a bulged tire, you need something in the low 20s wit an 8/9 stagger on a stock body s13. anything below +10 offset will be hella flush and give you a real set of marbles!

Haha.. well Streetfighter.. You can see that opinions on wheel fitment are very different from person to person in this forum. And that's cool because everyone is entitled to their own opinion on what looks best on their car.

I think the stock wheels for the 240 are somewhere around 15 x 7" (maybe 6.5"??).. with around +35 offset.

Anything higher than that for offset will look sunken.. in other words, they won't stick out far enough. It's really tough to make a set of wheels designed for a front wheel drive car (+38 to +45 offsets) look nice on a rear wheel drive car like the 240.

I think most everyone will agree with me when I say that you want to be lower than +38 on a 7" wheel.

How far lower you get with the offset is purely a matter of opinion, and as you can already see.. will vary greatly from person to person. Some people want very low offsets that look like the wheels stick out past the fenders. Some people want that low offset, but then add some camber to bring the top of the wheels back to flush with the fender. Some people will pull the fenders out to make them flush with the wide wheels.

My personal take... I think somewhere around +25 and +30 on a 7" wheel is great. I have wider wheels... I've got 8" fronts at +35 and 9" rears at +43. They fit nicely, but probably wouldn't satisfy the offset whores on this forum.

My only issue is that my fronts don't look like they will clear Z brakes.. So I might get spacers, or I might ditch the Z brakes and go with some Q45 calipers.. we'll see.

Yeah, a 7 or 8" wheel with a +20 to +30 offset would be ok.

My coupe has 7" wheels with +38 with 5mm spacer to clear Z brakes. It doesn't look good (came on the car when I bought it). And I'll be changing to a 8.5-9" with a +20 or so offset.

Vert has 16x8 with 0 offset all around. Looks pretty good I think, I need a little more camber and a slight front pull (back is pulled about an inch).

i have some 15" wheels with a +15 offset.

the car is lowered with kyb struts and tein springs.

the wheels come right to the edge of the fenders.

i just have stock brakes.

right now i have some 18" (rear) on the car for winter (free to me) even though they suck in the snow.

car looks dope. but my brother backed into my car the other day so i need to put my bolstered fenders on the rear. i was saving them for the coupe i'm getting this week.

i have some kei office 16s on my vert. 16x7 + 32 front and 16x8 + 35 rear. they get pretty close to flush. theyd be more flush if i wasnt running negative camber.
