Vehicle: Infiniti I35, 2002.

Got the p1147 error multiple times after clearing. I believe I need to replace the oxygen sensor 2 Bank 1. When choosing what to order, I get confused with the upstream/downstream, pre-cat, front and rear terminology that the parts' vendors use.

Traced the location of the connector plug (four wire dark blue plug, white wire covering) from the connection bank near the radiator to the sensor position in one of the CATs?, tip faces forward, parallel to the ground when I look up from the ground.

Vehicle was bought in New Jersey so I don't believe the car has the California emission package.

Any help would be greatly appreciated indicating what sensor to choose for purchase. (Does length of wire provide a clue?)

Thanks,

mike

I gave you a detailed response by e-mail (as you requested). The part number is most likely NGK/NTK 24634 as it is longer compared to NGK 24573. Better buy an O2 Sensor Socket @ $12 so it would be a lot easier to remove/install the sensor. You did not state the model year in the e-mail so I just assumed it's 2003 (middle year) but it should be the same for 2002. You can go to NGK.com website to verify. BTW, NGK.com is one of NICO sponsors.
