ok, so my car wasn't firing on cylinder 2&3 before. I found out it was the computer. I changed the computer yesterday, and it ran fine and on 4 cylinders. I adjusted the idle, then I drove the car out of the garage and parked it outside, started it again and moved it. I left it there, did the sleepy eye mod, then left it for the night, came out today, Dead battery. So I boosted it and it was running terribly. So I checked, not firing on cyl. 2? huh? So I shut it off. Started it again and it ran worse, now it's not firing on cylinder 2 AND 4 (the idle also slowed down by about half). So I got the test light, power at all 4 cylinders, then to check for ground. Only the Cylinders that weren't firing had a ground, and it was constant (cyl. 2 had a strong ground, and cyl. 4 had a weak ground). and the cylinders that were firing had no ground!? My dad also pointed out as he walked by that it is firing pretty much raw gas out of the tailpipe. I have no clue what could be wrong here, it ran fine yesterday after I installed the new computer. Could this computer have fried? I am so lost on this one. Please help!

something that went weird when my ecu went out, was that it killed two injectors at the same time. they went into a constant on full duty for some reason. flop injectors around just to see if it follows cylinders. just a thought.

ok, I messed around with plug wires, and the 2nd cylinder started firing. Then I was checking the power at the injectors and I turned it off, started it back up and wanted to die everytime I gave it gas, turned it off, messed with the 4th plug wire and did a few other small things, then fired it up and it ran on 4 cylinders, so I turned it off and tried again, still running good. Well, not god, if I gave it gas it would sounds gutless and sort of bog out. It is still spewing gas out of the tailpipe, and is having trouble getting gas to the engine. My fuel pump is new, and it was working fine, I doubt it's that. But I thought maybe it's just the fact that it is quite low on gas, maybe the pump is having trouble getting gas and is just sucking air? But why would it be spewing gas from the tailpipe? Anyone know what would cause this?

EDIT: When I give it gas, it is sputtering a lot.

pull your plugs to see if any are fouled, replace for extra measure. get new plug wire, cause those are obviously toasted/falling apart. then you can trouble shoot again.

ok, it's running well now. I dont get it. It's running on 4 cylinders, not spewing gas, not sounding bogged out, not sputtering. I have one problem with it still. Coming from the exhaust, is a lot of very white smoke. I dont know what could be causing it, what's wrong here?

well if the engine's cold, it's just burning moisture off. Don't worry too much about it if it's cold and pumpin out white smoke.

well, it's funny all of the problems I have been having yesterday, fixed themselves. I think it was just burning off moisture, and now it's running fine, no white smoke, firing on all cylinders, and responsive. I'm pretty happy with my car now, I was ready to haul it to a junk yard yesterday I was getting so annoyed with it. lol

ok, well I guess it hasn't stopped smoking yet, it's smokes a bit if I let it idle, but if I start revving it up and letting the engine heat up, it gets worse. I hope it's only maybe gas burning off the insides of the exhaust, as it was spewing gas when it was running improperly.

when my injectors went wild and went wide open, it took a good 2 days of driving to dry out he exh. one reason is because huge exh takes a while to heat up, and resonators get soaked with gas. if you have a cat, its probably holding a lot too.

ok, well I've been thinking, and this white smoke couldn't be coolant burning could it? I thought it could be a possibility, but may be more likely to be fuel as it was spewing out of the exhaust. I need to check my injectors yet tosee if they are working properly, I was going to do it yesterday, but had no time.

So, is this problem something to worry about, or not? Should I just drive it off, or start checking this, if so, what?

ok, I'd like some sort of idea what is going on here, I dont weant to wreck my engine or anything. Can I drive it like this? Would it just be gas burning? What can I do to make the gas stop burning off like this? I dont drive the car much (project) and I dont want it to smoke like this everytime I take it somewhere.

if its white smoke, it's either 1 coolant or 2 (more likely) burning moisture off. Combustion makes water vapor, it's to be expected that there's gonna be white smoke if you don't drive it around often as moisture from the exhaust cools and settles in your piping.

dont just drive it. fix your problem before you drive it. or if you want, search, "rear bumper caught on fire and burned down the rest of my car" and you can see an after shot of your car. seriously, doesnt matter if its a daily driver or project, its stupid to go drive it around with a problem this serious.

I think this is just like what you were saying about fuel in the exhaust burning off. Its been driven only 11 kilometers in the past few weeks, so it's not burning off much moisture in the little bit it has been driven. but anyways, gotta finish installing my cold air intake, thanks
