Also need to make sure you set the booktype to "DVD-ROM"Zamba wrote:After you extract the rar files you'll get an ISO file. You need to burn the ISO file as an image.
I just burned my copy on a Sony DL, and the car's nav cannot see it. It keeps loading, but never finds anything... what could I have done wrong?yosM45 wrote:For some reason, Imgburm won't let me change the book type to DVD-ROM.
I'm using verbatim DVD-RW DL.
That's your problem, can't change the book-types on "minus" media. Has to be DVD+R DL.yosM45 wrote: DVD-RW DL.
I would link to it directly but I rather not get Nicoclub into any trouble. Just search for "Nissan" or "Infiniti" and you'll see it.hylbruce wrote:hey... what did you guys search for at ThePirateBay... for the navagation dvd...? i can't seen to find it...
Try Verbatim.tytamto wrote:

I used IMGburn and did not change any settings... the size of both, the iso file and the nav disk is the same (after burning). So you did not change any settings prior to using Imgburn?yosM45 wrote:It burned just fine.
The help section says that you can't chenge book types on Samsung or LG drives. IMGBurn does it for you automatically.
And it did. Works perfectly.
thx
I've used all types of DVD+R and never had a problem as long as you change the book-type.tytamto wrote:

What DL disk did you use? Verbatim?
My stupid Dell Inspiron 1525's DVD-ROM firmware does not allow bitsetting changes. I will have to borrow my sister's Gateway 6707 and see if that will work.jankenpo30 wrote:

Losing your drive should not prevent any PC or laptop from booting. You just have to make sure that firmware is actually compatible with your drive. Long as you don't lose power during the flashing, you should be fine. And assuming you get the firmware straight from the manufacturer.tytamto wrote:

Any of you guys done a crossflash on DVD-ROM firmware? It is possible that the original Samsung firmware would allow for book-type changes. The only problem is that if something goes wrong, you lose the drive, and the laptop might not boot up without it. Advice?
