Just wondering how many other people on nico play instruments of any kind.. i know theres a few at least :)Just say what you play, how long, with what equipment, favirot players, bla bla...

I play bass and am pretty decent at guitar, been playing for about 8 years now. My favirot bass is my Ernie Ball stingray 5..(that one broke the bank) I love to play slap, and despise picks...favirot player is Victor Wooten. (dl one of his songs, its frigin insane)

Looking foward to seeing how many other talented people are out there :)

One of my fave bass players is Stuart Hamm (had an album titled "the urge" where he plays the Charlie Brown theme - All three lines - BY HIMSELF!!!!)

I played saxophone (alto, tenor and bari) for nine years, and am a big fan of Ace Cannon, Boots Randolph, Clarence Clemons... I played SOME drums in college (but I'm weak there).

I just started guitar lessons for fun with my 11-year old son - Damn, my fingers hurt! :D

Too many string/fret combinations on a guitar - Confusing as all hell. The sax is a real easy one to learn - The finger positions and scales "make sense" even to a non-musician.

Check out Stu Hamm and tall me what you think.

I play alto saxophone for the good 'ol UCSD pep band right now. I've been playing since the end of 6th grade, so that would make it a good 8 or 9 years. I like it :)

Oh, and as far as saxophone players go, it's all about Cannonball Adderly, Michael Brecker (how cool is the harmonics he does in 'Delta City Blues'?), and Sonny Rollins (St. Thomas is one of the best songs ever).

I love playing, dunno what I'd do with out it, it really helps me to relieve stress.

I am a drummer/percussionist of about 15 years now.

My usual setup is Ludwig shells for the toms and bass, Remo piccolo snare, Yamaha snare, Evans heads, DW and Gibraltar hardware and stands, DW 5000 Delta series double-bass peddles, Ziljian and Sabian cymbals (including 22" china, 22" ride and several assorted crash sizes and weights) and DW hi-hat stands. For hi hats I usually use a set of 14" Ziljian New Beats, but I often switch off with a set of 13" Pastie Custom Darks. I usually go for a 7 to 9 piece setup depending on what size limits I have to deal with. I like the versatility I can get with my gear. The Gibraltar rack is set up to handle almost any setup I need.

EDIT: Now that I think about it... I have more invested in my drums than I do in my cars!!!

I use Tama drums and hardware with Zildian cymbals(spelled that three times:tisk:) I haven't hit them in years and I wasn't that good to begin with but it's enjoyable. When i get my garage finished me an Oni are going to jam.

I have to overhaul the wife's old off brand shells with good Pearl hardware and Evans skins before I can beat on them. I keep breaking the cheesy Taiwan pot metal hardware.:beatfreak

Ummm.. I haven't got them here to look at... but I believe it's Ziljian with a "J" not a "D". Were you saying I spelled it wrong? I'm easily confused. Anyway... TAMA drums are sweet.... well, their newer stuff is pretty good... not sure about the product they put out in the late 80's early 90's.

EDIT: WE WERE BOTH WRONG!!! it's Zildjian

Coolz, get to see how many people out there have some musical ability. Music guys are sexy. hehe ;)

I started piano when i was 4 so i've been playing about 21 years now. Clarinet in 6th grade. Those two are my strongest but I toy around with a few others. (Sax, drums, guitar(which i suck at)) Not very good at those but it's fun trying. :D

I played the sax from 5th grade thru high school. I've played alto, tenor and baritone (that thing is huge). Never touched a soprano sax but I would like to if I had the chance. I messed around with the clarinet, piano, and violin when I was younger. Now I'm trying to do the guitar thing (much harder than the sax like AZ said)

I've played guitar for a couple years now, starting to like it more and more as I advance. Took me about 6 months to get out of the "I hate this I can't play anything right" stage. Linkin Park is my fav, I love playing jammin hard rock. Papa Roach, Chevelle, Disturbed etc. I love to play too. Call me mainstream or whatever, but nothin gets me more wound up then turning it up, jumpin around and pounding it out:ylsuper .

Wow, lots of sax players... :D

I had an old (early 70's) Gretsch nine piece set that I sold to put the down payment on my house... That thing was bulletproof.

I'm looking for an electronic kit now for me and the kids - I like the Roland setup, especially the feel of the pads. Any drummers have experience w/the electronic stuff?

Isn't that cool as hell?

I wanna see him play that live! Friggin' amazing. I hear he has done some work with Satriani.

I also like Greg Bissonette (sp)? on bass, although his style is more sloppy...
