Last two tanks were 15.2 and 15.7... I mostly drive city... very little highway. I have gotten high 16s and low 17s a few times... strange thing is, if I drive it more spiritedly than civilly, I get better mileage... last two fills I was trying to conserve a little... now I'm having more fun with it, and its back up in the 16s again...

I drive about 15 miles to work in the morning (mostly city, a little highway, but at slow speeds), then 5 miles home, all city...

Wow! I do almost all city driving and during the break in period I was averaging 19. Now that it's broken in I sometimes accelerate quick off the line and I'm still averaging 18.5. You must be driving it harder than you think. Or not shifting and driving at 3.5 rpm.

I drive to 4krpm pretty much at a minimum... occasionally higher when the need arises... I do skip shift when traffic allows... but I don't fart around town... thats for sure.

I'm getting like 17.4 and I do alot of short trips because I drive 3 miles to school and also drive slow through campus. I drive spiritedly too. I do do some highway driving and I cruise at 80-85 in 6th where I get better milage.

20 to 22 mpg depending on the proportion of city to highway driving. Haven't done a road trip yet, so don't know what it will do over several hundred miles on the interstate at 80 mph.

Well remember that it mainly depends what kind of driver you are. I hate keeping track of my gas mileage and I just drive and accelerate fast most of the time just to have some fun, but nothing dangerous of course

You should buy the Honda Accord Coupe I traded in if you wanted to get MPG you could brag about.

if you need an under powered, over priced with a terrible transmission means of transportion that's based on 1990's technology and used by greenpeace envisionists (no v8 in the inventory, in america?) We want POWER AND DOMINANCE HERE!!! Allthough our strick emmisions laws forbid it, you're getting the best there can be for the price.

Hondas are soulless.....

my G is getting no more than 15mpg.....I like to accelerate to feel the power ,but not unreasonably.... usually keep it under 80 on the Interstate....just hit 1500 miles and hope the mileage improves.....

Never turn your back on Honda. http://www.motortrend.com/road....html

Their new Accord Coupe is a pretty nice car, not G nice, but it has come a surprising long way in 15 years... And if that's not enough, it performs on cheaper Regular fuel...

Does anyone have enough miles on their G (20k or so) to get a real estimate of gas mileage after the engine is thoroughly broken in?

I've heard that the VQ engine gets better mileage after it is worn in a little. (12,000-20,000 miles) Or so the dealer tells me.

With the G37 being such a new car, it is unlikely anyone has really put enough miles on one to wear it in enough to get to that point. I only have 1800 miles and my mileage isn't any better than you guys are reporting here. Time will tell.

Wow I guess I have a heavy foot. I average 12.7 to 12.9mpg with my G but its still way better mileage than my 02wrx (bout 8 or 10mpg) after mods.

I spent $50 to fill up at $3.24 per gallon. I ran this sucker down so far the warning range counter quit registering miles left to empty. I filled up taking 15.4 gallons. The auto shutoff on the pump clicked off and the gas gauge needle was pegged. The manual indicates a 20 gallon gas tank. Now I know you can get more in after the pump shuts down and I expect there to be a reserve left after the warning light says your screwed but 4.6 gallons!!!!! Has anybody noticed this or do I need to take this thing to the dealership?

Ok this is how the count down on the gas works: It counts down until there is a 3 gallon reserve left in the tank. After it hits 0 miles to empty, you have 3 gallons to drive until your totally out of fuel.

Hey all,

I must not be driving fast enough... I've gotten around 19 pretty consistently for my first 2000 miles, although at least half of that is no-traffic highway, cruising at 70-80 in 6th, so yeah.

CYO, your ride is sick. You get all that done in one fell swoop? Also, where'd you get the info on the 3 gallons thing... I'd love to believe that, but it seems a bit much. For some reason I was under the impression it was closer to 1...

Well ty, I did most of the work myself (all but the tints and springs). I kknow the car has a 20 gallon gas tank and I always fill it up when it goes into the count down until empty (around 10 or so miles) and the car always takes right around 17 gallons of car and the fuel meter reads max full.

They claimed the 37 would get better mpg than the 35. Doesn't seem that way. the mileage quoted here sounds pretty awful, given where we are with fuel prices and peak oil.

Makes me lean towards a 330ci, which is considerably lighter, has more room, and gets better mileage. Only thing is everyone has one...

I'm with Nick. I've been averaging 18.6 every tank. I drive 50/50 city/highway. 1500 on the odometer. I must not be driving as hard as everyone most of the time. Although I do like to sometimes hit the highway speed limit 1/4 down the on-ramp.
