Also, can "Car Shows" really be considered a motorsport? Sure, it involves cars, but no physical activity is needed for competition.

auto-x costs more then drifting? i spend $30 on an auto-x event today and got 12 laps in. a club is holding an event at tire rack sanctioned by go drift and if i go, its $80 for the entree fee alone. then add gas, a spare set of wheels (a pair is requiered), new brake pads, etc. yea, u get the picture. drifting is yet to be as wide spread as auto-x. rare and costly. plus harder on your car making it easier to brake stuff. either way i wanna do both though :) and i chose auto-x

but im also going to do both too.

Are there any autox website that host events in CA besides SCCA because i don't want to pay a membership fee, i just want to pay for the event.

takes A LOT of physical activity for competition. imagine the car build-up... that's extensive in itself and is apart of the competition.

and rally was listed under open track events and road racing, in my eyes. ice racing is too.

True, but you also usually build a car for those other motorsports. What I meant, is that in competition, Car Shows require no physical activity other than setting up the display and hoping the judges give you a good score. Competing in AutoX, for example, requires a great amount of dexteriety and driver skill, whereas Car Shows lack both. I wasn't really focusing on the building aspect, the competition is where something becomes a motorsport...

i see your point, but, drag racing requires very very very little physical activity in the actual competition. professional drag races are won in the garage, building the engine/car.

competition starts from the moment you work on the car. remember that...

True, and that's why I'm not a big fan of drag racing. Plus it's not the most exciting spectator sport. Although during competition, drag racing still requires pushing your foot and switching the gear. Maybe even a little bit of button pushing! Car shows? Pull up a chair and sit.

But yes, all of the things listed usually require a buildup of some kind or another. Except for maybe the stock classes in Auto-X...

I like to watch Drag racing in person, my favorite motorsport is rally though. I also enjoy Auto X when I get to do it.

Ya... sure... driving a car that goes from 0 to 300mph in 4 seconds is SOOOO easy to do!

I voted for road racing, although rally is right behind that
