made from. I think this ticking started after the guy did my tensioner and I bet some of the old pieces are in pan and blocking the flow as it is now quiet as a mouse. Tend to tick after it gets fully warm and oil is thinnest allowing the parts to block pick up screen. It was silent from the start up earlier, is it by chance a magnetic metal or more likely the plastic crap that means a pan drop?

Doesn't multi-weight oil gain viscosity as it warms?

They say that but check it cold and hot, when hot it is thin when cold it is thicker , using 5 w 30 castrol.

I guess it does corroborate that oil pressure is higher when the engine is cold. But the smaller number DOES stand for "winter." Not sure about the parts blocking your pick-up screen, but dropping the pan might be a good thing. Even if there wasn't any big pieces in it you could clean out any gunky build up and have your oil stay cleaner for longer.
