I'm looking at some lowering springs for my 1997 s14. I'm gonna throw some z32 TT wheels on soon: 16x7.5 with a 225/50 up front and a 16x8.5 245/45 in the rear. I want to lower the car to get some better handling and have that aggressive stance without wheel well gap. A few of them I'm looking at:

-TANABE DF-210 lowering springs 1.8"/1.8" drop f/r (these are looking good)-SKUNK2 lowering springs 1.7"/1.5" drop f/r-maybe some TEIN s-techs 1.3"/0.9" drop f/r (afraid it won't be enough of a drop)

what I'm looking for is some experience with the ride quality and some pics of the car with the drop. TIA

O and these are gonna be on stock shocks/struts.

I would suggest coilovers so you can adjust the camber on a heavily lowered car but I have heard the Tein S-Tech's are good. Just don't expect a huge drop from stock if you're just going with springs. Also, grab a set of shocks to handle a drop. More aggressive springs will ruin an otherwise perfect set of stock/stock replacement shocks.

get some coilovers.

lowering springs are about $200 all cheap struts are about $100 apeace.save a few more dollars and get some coilovers. you can find some tein basic damper for a little more than that.

i'm running tein s.tech springs and kyb struts. i've had this set up in my vert since sept and i just pulled it off the other day. the struts are leaking.

i figure i'll have to replace the struts once a year.

on the coupe i have coils overs, i haven't had a problem

yeah I would love coilovers but I'm spread too thin on funds and I gotta save up for college yada yada yada..I really just want a drop to make my car look good on the z32 wheels, I'm not gonna track the car really at all maybe an occasional parking lot drift session but the car is daily driven.

When you say the struts are leaking you mean the shocks right? Lowering springs are supposed to have a reduced spring rate so they don't damper too much and blow the shocks but again, I really have no experience on the matter..thanks for the replies guys I appreciate it

I got the tanabe gf210's on my s14 and I am very impressed with them. Great price and very easy to install. It almost instantly made things alittle more snappier control wise and offered a nice moderate drop, just right.

My vote goes for either the df's or the gf's.

Take care

those are really nice springs..I ended up getting some springs off ebay for cheap, 87 shipped with a 1.9" drop front and rear. Hopefully these and my stock struts won't fail on me but I'm more worried about my car in deep dips and speed bumps scraping my exhaust!
