As long as you have a nice array of tools, you should be golden. Do you have angle sockets and a torque wrench? A C ring remover tool will be handy also, but not specifically needed. Try and get some jackstands too, it'll make working under the car and mounting the transmission easier.

Good Luck.

it's not an "AC ring removal tool," it's a "C Ring Remover tool." It's to take the C ring out to be able to remove the shifter. It'll also come in very hand should you choose an SSQV BOV (like I did).

I'm not sure how much they are, but it would have turned my 1 hour long C ring R&R into a ten minute job.

Or you could just remove the 6 12mm bolts that hold the whole shifter in.

you'll need an engine hoist, and extensions, and tools with life time warrenties, cause you will brake them, and IMO an absolute MUST, well not really but you will thank me later is turbo sockets...i mean they say turbo what more can i say, except that they take off stripped nuts, and they are AWESOME also it would be wise to invest in a GOOD set of wrenches i have the snap on flank drive plus, they are expensive but well worth it, they grip about 10 times better than anything else, also some ratchet wrenches would make things easier...I'm a tech at a dealership, so i luck out, i got my engine hoist for free i have lots of tools and anything i don't have someone else does...:ylsuper

i got 2 c ring remover tools. They came in a pack of 2, on of them has an angled edge to get into tight places. The other one is strait, It was only 5 dollars for both, they are really cheap. That was at menards, but i have seen craftsman ones as expensive as $20
