They work very well but they are very soft. They won't last as long as some other tires and wet traction is questionable, but dry traction is excellent for the price.
People say that if you use the AVS you should have separate winter tires, but I haven't had a problem as long as I'm careful. (Then again, I live in Southern Cali, so even winter doesn't see much rain)
The AVS is one of the better tires i've come across. They usually last me around 15k, which is longer than the pirelli p6000s i used to run. i just bought another 2 yesterday from tire rack, around $130 for both incld ship. unfortuantely they are being discontinued

... so grab'em while you can.
