Just wondering. First time going in there I'm gonna' test drive and check the car out, then if I really like it I am going to bring a mechanic with me to really check the car out. But anyone got any suggestions as to what I should ask the dealer, as in problems with the car and things like that? I remember someone saying the G35 had some fuel problems or tire wear?

Any advice would be helpful

Thanks!

Try using a search...this has been discussed extensively.

To give you a quick answer, just have your mechanic check the normal trouble spots out. Have him look at the tread on the tires for suspension problems. Unfortunately, he will not be able to tell if the car consumes oil, which is the biggest (NOT widespread) problem with the REVUP engine.

If no one has said it yet Welcome

15000 miles is almost a new car. In two years, I'm close to 46kIf the dealer can prove oil changes, tire rotation, Air Filter replacement and Cabin Filter replacement that is about it. Inspect the tires and remove the wheels to inspect the brakes. Test drive the vehicle, take it up to 75- 80 if you can on level pavement. If you take your hand off the stearing wheel there should be no pulling to the left or right.Insist on an oil change new oil filter, air & cabin filters before you take delivery. Ask for a wheel alignment also and make sure everything is in writing that the work was completed at no charge to you.

Enjoy

I forgot to mention

Ask for new winshield wipers, a couple of oil filters, a few crush washers for the oil drain plug, and maybe a gallon of washer fluid. You've got a lot of bargaining power as long as the $$$$ is still in your pocket.

^^^^^+1 for these guys.

Once you hit the lowest possible price ask for free stuff. They can get you couple of years of oilchage and free tint and all other goodies.

Check the car out yourself to begin with. If you like it and don't see any problems, ask about taking the car to an independent mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. It will be up to you to find someone competent and trustworthy and pay for the inspection. It should be a shop that has been in business for several years. If you need help finding a shop, car clubs such as the local chapter of the Sports Car Club of America are good sources of information. If the dealer won't agree to an independent inspection, you don't want to buy any used car from them. This is critical for a car that is approaching the end of its warranty or is out of warranty. It is still useful on cars that have most of the warranty left.

Thanks a ton guys.

When I ask the dealer to take it to an independent guy though, how would they possibly allow that? Like, would I just take the car? Or would I have the mechanic come there?

First time car buyer here so all this information is helping a lot.
