Also will that pass NJ's emissions?

I would suspect you wouold have around 160 ish wheel hp properly tuned. As for emissions, I don't know the criteria that has to be met there, but if you maintain your cat, I would think so.

depending on how the state of your car is and since the stated hp of a brand new 240 is 155... I would say you will probably gain around 5~10hp but you will get around 3~7 to the wheels.. and the reason I asked about your car is if it is old nad many miles you probably will still be under the 155hp... the only way to find out is to take your car out to a dyno and check it out.

Well if he is getting cams, and properly tunes the car with bolt ons, you could see a 25 hp or so gain to the wheels.

pullies add quite a bit all around.... your car probably has about 135-140 stock at the wheels ... so figure about 155 - 165 depending on the cams ,,,,,intakes and exhaust add quite a bit more to the midrange pull too but again cams can completely change a car

I agree w/ the cam thing - it all depends on how aggressive u go. i'd love to see a KA lobe like crazy @ a stoplight!

Mine had 82k when i bought it from a student at Emory Law. Had a bad fan clutch that caused the belts to squeal like crazy over 3.5k rpms. the guy had no idea. 82k on a car that's never seen above 3.5k...i love it.

the lobe is on a camshaft, its the part that the rocker arm rides on which in turn opens the valves

not neccesarily ... just means that you can lift your valves higher at higher rpms creating more peak horsepower but a rougher and less smooth idle ... alot of old muscle cars used that technique to make big power before turbo's became so popular .... if only we could use the gasoline like they did in the late 60's ......

I think your exhaust will help the best. When you open up the exhaust the KA has really nice top end. Right now I have just a striaght pipe from the mainifold back w/ muffler an it pulls hard all the way to 7k. As for intake why spend so much on AEM, just get a cheap 50 dollar one of ebay does the same thing. But if your car is a manual an you can somewhat drive you should be lookin at low 15's. With cams no idea maybe you can hit a high 14 once an a while.

gasoline up to about 71 - 72 had lead in it .....before the era of catolitic converters and all that..... the lead was essentially a octane boost allowing more agressive tuning but polluting the environment.... so the government banned lead in gasoline .. so now we have 91 - 93 unleaded crap that we have to put into our engines that is healthier for the environment just not for our cars.... it killed the old muscle cars but now with the turbos and superchargers we can have the best of both worlds :D
