You gotta be more open minded, dude. I come from both sides of the story, because i have loved a ton of different music.iwantans13 wrote:Im the resident Punk/metal/hardcore listener around here. There needs to be more of us so we can hunt down all of you people who listen to c-rap.
Its already been adressed, see above posts.SketchyRollin564 wrote:

I used to LOVE fake punk (GC stuff), then i was really into metal, then really into hardcore, ive been really into REAL punk for a while, i was also a complete ska freak at one time (its still badass, to me), i was really into black metal, death metal, i used to love really "hardcore ghetto gangsta" rap, i like classic rock, and i like older underground rap. Hell, i even used to love the freakin Baha Men, and Aaron Carter's "I want Candy".
Sure, as much as i currently hate metal, there is still a lot of metal bands that i can respect, and say that they are good, even though the style of music doesnt tickle my fancy.
Basicly, what im saying is, before you generalize that all rap is crap, youve gotta realize that there is some good rap out there.
Thats like me generalizing that rock sucks, because i hate Emo. Does that mean classic rock, and ska suck? No it doesnt.
Sorry if i seam like an ***, its just that i know a lot of closed minded people, and their ignorance twards certain things is just annoying.
The same way its annoying when people sterotype auto enthusiasts, who prefer imports, as "ricers".

Check out Pelican (instrumenatl), Neurosis and Isis. Maybe you'll like 'em maybe you won't. Worth a shot.Sil40_Mayhem wrote:And for the record, I listen to a diverse range of music, and would like to find more good rock and metal. Since you are particularly fond of this type of music (and thus likely to have a better insight on it than a casual listener like myself), do you have any recommendations?
Wow Im quite impressed that you are into Winter Solstice. They are an amazing band and its rare when I find anyone that is a big fan.iwantans13 wrote:Point taken. I was just being a Dbag there for a second. Sorry if I offended anyone. But as far as good metal bands it depends on what kind of metal you want. If youre into crazy guitar solos Id check out trivium, dragonforce or shadows fall. If its harccore you like, look at winter solstice, atreyu, as I lay dying, underoath or norma jean. If you want some of the more popular stuff, Avenged Sevenfold, Eighteen visions or Lamb of god is great. For some of the darker european stuff, children of bodom, opeth or In Flames. For some of the just straight up crazy metal you can look at between the buried and me, strapping young lad or converge. Hope that helped
Hah, yeah Im a pretty big fan who never got to see em in concert before they broke up. But I really like lots of bands.firesluck13 wrote:
