I have been looking online at other peoples projects/modifications, and I'm noticing a trend. When searching google for 1990 4 cyl. ka24e motors, the intake manifolds that I am finding in the pics all have the throttle body on the front, facing the radiator, like this-
ImageThis intake belongs on a kas4De,doesn't it?

This pic is my motor.

Am I just looking in the wrong places, do I not know what the heck I'm talking about, are people mis labeling their pics, or what? Are there any gains to be made by switching to this intake over mine? Will it even fit? I have plans on moving my battery to the bed in a battery box, so that will free up the real estate in that corner for a filter.

I know this makes me seem like a noob, but I'm confused. Don't laugh at me too hard. I'm fragile. LOL

Probably a 240sx intake, they had a different setup on the KAe engine.

ok. Those are pretty much useless to me then. I don't plan on turboing my truck, and I don't want to get into engine surgery with swapping cams and intakes, and then ecu's... everything I have read here so far points to that as the direction people are going.

Thanks, rev. :dblthumb: I seem to see you in every thread, so I'm going to assume you either know your stuff, or you are incredibly good at the :bs: LOL

that is the excessive intake manny for a ka24
its prob the best after market intake manny for the engine runs for a few hundred, you would need either a maf delete or maf relocation to use it and a few deletes

that intake pic was linked to a site that sells those. I think they are asking 499 for it. I just used that pic because it shows clearly the style of manifold I was referring to. IMO, that's alot of cash to drop on a single part. Unless that thing will absolutely bring the engine to the next level, I can't justifiy it. I am still building up my truck to be where I want it. 500.00 will put ALOT of bells and whistles on my truck.

its a bad a** manifold and looks alot nicer if you pop your hood and see that.
i plan on getting one later one when i can actually save up some money, but for now im going to use the intake manifold from the ka24e that came out of a 240 which is the same style as that one just a little different
