i'm pretty sure those are custom made since i've asked around and looked all over the place and the same answer keep coming up...asked one of the local guy here in nor-cal that had something like that and sure enough it was also custom made...they r just some 3" round fog light or driving light sitting on custom bend aluminum panel...though they look nice its not really functionable...even if u put HID bulb into those housing u still wont get the same lighting as stock because the housing is just not meant for it...the only set up like that that i like is one that i saw on youtube just the guy had some pretty awsome light but ofcourse it was covered so i dont know what kind of light he was using...i figure the cheaper and more functionable alternative now adayz is silvia frontend because it pretty cheap now

WOW....nothing can be farther from the truth!!! I like how much misinformation is on the internet.

Anyways...That black convertible was my car. It IS in norcal, and as far as I know that was one of a kind locally. SO you must have been talking with the guy who bought my car....because I would have never spread the mis-info.

For the record, those are NOT fog lights NOR driving lights. Those are DOT legal Hella H9 Projector lamps, both high beam and low beam. So they are fully functional, and better than stock lamps and silvia frontend lamps in EVERYWAY. Silvia lamps are aimmed for the wrong side of the street, as they drive from the other side in Japan. If you install one of those, other drivers will hate you because you are blinding them, and police might pull you over for blinding oncoming drivers.

Those Hella H9 projectors also comes in HID, and also in bi-xenon form. Which means you get DOT legal HID projector (designed specifically for it). The projectors come with proper adjusters, so the lights can be aimed correctly. The cut off on the lights is on par with modern projectors from OEM car you buy off the lot today, because it is a modern design, and because I have compared side by side.

Secondly, those are bent aluminum panel. It was made of steel. When you bent aluminum in 90deg, you stress and thin the metal considerably.

I was on this forum (the convertible section) for a while till I sold the car. I just want to clean up any misinfo out there. I mean....if I didn't come on here, people might have believed what you said because you claimed to have talked to the guy who had one. And someone out there would have missed out a chance on some unique and VERY FUNCTIONAL head light mod.

Third, those aren't 3 inches. They are 90mm.

And if any of you are curious...Saleen S7 use the very same projectors, not just the same bulb type, but the EXACT SAME projector unit from Hella ...chew on that for a moment.

Snap, i've been had. Kudos to you for doing it right.

still not sure that i personally would want to spend the loot on projectors and fab them in when a pair of Hella 200mm H4 housings are $80 and suitable enough for my clapped out s13, but you probably value your car more than I value mine >_<

for the record though, I _have_ seen vinyl overlays to "give you that projector lens look"
