I am still using my Stock ECU

but i been looking in to

Apexi Power FCAEM EMSHaltech

PFC being the cheapest and most commonly used in the RB sence (world wide)i also hear alot of good things about the AEM EMS

and the Haltech is a full Standalone.. some of the best stuff u will get.

I my self will most likely get the AEM EMSHad it for my SR20.. loved it

id also vote haltech over that power fc.

i think you can cover a lot more with tuning with the haltech. plus a simple of simple laptops can run that DOS based program

for most ppl depending on overall power goals should be the deciding factor on what kind of management to run...

heres how i break it down in my mind:stockish setup - intake, exhaust, boost bumped a few psi - safc works fine for you

modded stock setup - small/mild turbo upgrade (t3,rb25), bigger injectors (440-550cc), intake, exhaust, fmic - chipped stock ecu + safc

mildly modded setup - mild turbo(t3/t4), big injectors(440-550cc),intake, exhaust, fmic, maf upgrade - chipped stock ecu + safc

agressively modded setup - big turbo (gt30r, t66), large injectors (550-720cc), intake, fmic, full exhaust, large maf upgrade (z32,q45),cams - power fc

power setup - same as previous cept for silly large turbo and injectors - aem, haltech, pfc, ect...

high power/revs - for people going past 9k - aem,haltech, ect...

keep in mind that what i say here is subjective, for almost everyone a power fc will do nicely, 20x20 maps definately isnt bad resolution wise and its plug and play so it works first time. as you move on with the diffrent stand alones you do gain more resolution but also start reaching points where you also have the ability to destroy something quicker (pfc is simpler, less stuff to muck with ). i had strongly considered the aem or a haltech but i couldnt justify the price for what the car was going to be used for, so for me a pfc will do fine and if i do run out of resolution then i'll proly go to a haltech.my .02

I have a Nismo chipped ECu that I am trying to sell. But I am running a Power FC. About half the price of the rest of them and still pretty good.

are you still using the CAS triggering method or utilizing something else on the FAST system?

tha haltech did not use the cas but the FAST needed two pickups so I went back to the cas and a new crank trigger

Anyone know anyone running an Electromotive TEC3? Seems like a very capable unit. Just wondering.
