I am in sales and naturally curious to the profits a car dealer makes. I am happy with my dealership, but love this forum and thought to reach out to see what someone thought of the deal?

2005 FX 3549,187 milesDealer put on new tires (Hankook 18" rims - yes, there are better, but the fact they are new by the dealer, helps defray cost on buying tires on my own)Dealer ground all brake rotors and put on new brake pads.I still have 10,000 miles to go on the original factory warranty (or until 7/31/09)found a few deep scratches on the paint and they airbrushed out (not perfect, but good)technology package (nav/rear parking assit, etc)$21,500 (they stuck at 22,000 for quite a week)By comparison, I found the same car without the tires/breaks/technology package about 500 miles from my house for $19,000

What is a consensus on this deal?

It sounds like a good deal.

I found one that they had been asking $25k for and I had been watching it online.

They had an "internet special" down to $21k. I ended up paying $20,500 for mine (plus $2k for my negative equity) and it has 44k miles, but no navi or technology package. It has just a few minor scuffs in the paint and no dents or dings.

My biggest issue was my QX4 was a few thousand in negative equity, so I got what I thought was a decent trade in on it and tacked some extra on the price. I guess that all comes out in the wash for the dealer (they will be able to sell the Q for more than I could have).

There is only one Infiniti dealer in the entire state of Oregon and these are kind of hard to find. Searching CL for weeks waiting for the right one to come up at the right price.
