I'm in the market for a car alarm for my S13, something like a Clifford 50.5x but I need guidance. What kind of car alarm do you have and would you recommend it? Pros and cons of your alarm?

I have the 50.5X one my truck and a Avant Guard4 on my Mustang and an old Alpine alarm on the 240 (was on it when I got it). I prefer Clifford G5, G5.1 models to lesser alarms systems because they have more security features.

A 50.5X is a very basic alarm with remote start and up to 1 mile range 2 way paging remote.

The G5 or G5.1 line offers better sensors (digital with remote adjustments and seperate settings for warn and trigger settings), multiple normally open kills (starter and ignition kill plus optional wireless fuel kill), as well as coded valet switches and Blackjax anti-car jack. Unfortunately, the G5 products will not page you if the alarm is triggered.

I hear crimestopper is pretty decent. I have a no name 2 way pager and it works well for me.

i have a viper 5900, it has remote start and a turbo timer with the 1 mile range. most alarms are fairly similar and made by DEI (directed) so far i've had no problems.
