What kind of BOV is this?! (vid)

I've always wondered to what kind of blow-off valve this is. I can't really describe the sound, so here's a short 2mb video. Its a very unique sound that i think is awesome. I've heard that particular bov on other setups as well (lexus is300, civics..) and I'm curious as to what you will need to buy to make that unique sound? Will any type of external wastegate work or does it have to be a certain kind? At first i thought it was a super charger but ive never come acoss one for a supra. Is there any way you could get a KA to sound like that? Thanks.

you mean the "squeezing a dog toy" sound? My guess is Apex'i...but I'd love to find out for sure. Thats the kind of sound I want on mine, since I got tired of the "sighs" and the "run over bird" sounds that the various BOV's my Supra had. BTW, my favorite BOV I've ever owned (so FAR) has been a Bosch Porsche/SAAB unit, that was very smooth.

you need a turbo to use a BOV, no go on a stock KA

yea i know that i jsut was wondering. im turboing my KA soon, and loved the sound. not sure if i could get it to sound like that, being it a supra and all.

BOV is an HKS SS BOV, as for the whine....i have no idea curious myself

the whine your hearing from the camera vehicle is prob the supercharger. the other sound you hear from the supra is the turbo (s) spooling up. some are really loud and some arent. heres a link to hear different types of BOV'shttp://www.blowoffvalves.com

that whine was from the 03 cobra he was racing. the really loud sucking sound was from the supra's turbo. thats a pretty good video, the supra destroys that mustang that has probably at least 500-600whp. but i like the video of that supra getting its *** handed to it by a trans am more

also the amount of boost changes the sound of the BOV alot......

already planed on gitting an hks ssqv bov, as for the fmic which one should i get?? i have a KA and im gitting the GReddy kit for it. Should i get the GReddy 24V fmic?

That whine is specific to roots type blowers, a type positive displacement supercharger. Other cars that have this same style supercharger besides the 03 Cobra, are the current generation Lightnings and Mini Cooper S'.

yeah, but he was racing an 03 cobra. trust me i know plenty about superchargers. i have an eaton m45 sitting in my room that was going on my 626 until i got "hit and run'ed" 2 times in a week and not having full coverage meant i was just ****ed.

Flutter just means a loose spring... the HKS can chirp too if you leave the screw tightened down. But I agree, definitely doesn't sound like an SSQV to me. SSQV is more of a chirp than the squeak in the video.

ya greddy has a good front mount kit.

that flutter means that his bov is messed up. im telling you my friends sr20 with ssqv and frount mount sound just like that supra and you can hear it for blocks. he actually got pulled over for it.
