When I bought my car it didnt have the stock KA. Im pretty sure this KA was from a 240 but I was at the shop today trying to replace my valve cover gasket and we must of ordered every valve cover gasket possible for every year 240 and non of them fit! Anyone ever have a similar problem? Maybe my KA is from an xterra? I'll get some pics up 2moro so you can see the shape of the valve cover next to a differnt shaped one I have chillen on the spare KA.

There are only 2 different valve cover gaskets. One for the SOHC and one for the DOHC motor. What year is your car, is it a single or DOHC. You can tell by counting the cams you see when pull the cover. 2 = DOHC and 1 = SOHC.

there's 1 for a sohc, 1 for a early dohc(91-93, maybe 94) and 1 for 95-98(95-98 valve cover gasket has bigger holes for the bolts(the bolts are bigger on 95-98 than 91-94), it has an extra hole between the last 2 corner bolts).

the xterra's have different accesory(power steering, a/c, alt) design, so if its an xterra motor, you could prolly find out that way.

Its a DOHC, I just dont know what year the KA is from. Its not the stock 91 KA that came with my 91 coupe. I tried the valve cover gaskets for a 91-94 ka and 95-98 ka... non fit. Im going back to the garage now, so ill see if its an xterra motor

Well I figured out my KA is out of a 95-98 240. My valve cover looks like this... notice the back right bolt stick outs a little

and here is a 91-94 ka notice the back right bolt is inline with the rest

I dont know how the part supplier sent us the wrong gasket in a box that said "nissan ka24de" but thats the only thing I can think of. Keep in mind I did try two differnt gaskets and neither fit. Im going to try a different parts supplier tomorrow and hopefully I can get this done!
