was wonderin what system everyone has. I have a eclipse head unit, mb quart front 5 1/4 and rear 6 1/2 components, xtant 404m for highs, kenwood ps300t for subs, and two polk 10's. I had 4 mb quart 10's and an orion xtr2250 to run the 4 tens and it was too much my trunk felt like it was going to blow off! I'm suprised that the orion even ran off my 80 amp alt. but it woked well at 4 ohm stereo.

Pioneer Premier Head Unit, I forget the number, it's a middle-ranged one.Pioneer XM, iPod Link, 12 Disc Changer(I have no am/fm antenna)

Fronts: Stock location 4x6 Pioneer speakersCustom tweeters in panel by side-mirrors.Rears: Stock location 4x6 Pioneer speakersCustom speakers installed into quaterpanel next to rear seats, 6x9 Pioneer Premiers. (The yellow ones)2 12" cheap-ish Subs. Like, 400watt max, 22Hz I think.

The fronts and custom rears are driven by a 4-ch Audiobahn amp. The stock rears and tweeters are driven by the head unit. The subs are powered by a bridged Pioneer Premier 800watt amp. It's loud, clear, and fun.

I had to remove the rear-hatch wiper, since it scratched my glass...

I've acutally thought about going down to 10's. The 12's boom a bit too much sometimes. I like the volume sometimes, but when I want really high SQ, they're a little lacking.

I've also been thinking about making the adapter plates to convert the fronts to 6" speakers. I can't decide if it would be worth it or not...

i hacked on the factory pod and got my 5 1/4 q series quarts to fit but they are components and i dont know if the mounting options of a coaxial would work or not but you will notcie a huge difference in the response of your fronts by going bigger.Getting a 60 to 80 hz response than a 90 to 100 hz is a big diff in the quality of the sound.

take a db or two off the headunit treble setting. That is why i went quart because the inline crossover has a -3db or a -6db attenuation for the tweeter. Not so peircing to the ears and super accurate.

I was looking for quarts the whole time but I ended up getting the infinity's for an xmas present, While I'm under my dash doing the 5 spd I'll probably switch my crossovers to the lower setting too

i had a set of infinity kappa when they came out with a ceramic tweet back in 99 and i loved them till they were stolen but my quarts are by far the best but i have q series and they are pricey but worth the money.

'89 S13 (is there any other kind for an 89?) coupe with a Panasonic MXE CQ-C9800U Head Unit, Kaption 4x6" in the front, Kaption 6.5" in the rear, 10 Panasonic IMPP sub in a ported box. I'm using JBL GTO 80.4 for the Surounds and a JBL GTO 150.1 for the sub. Sound is clear, tight and powerfull with an RMS rating of <500 watts. Next to no rattle in the cabin ( a little from the trunk deck due to the sub..) and most people who get in think I'm running 2 10's or 2 12's. I've had the head unit for 3 years (stayed with that particular line for 6) and amplifiers and subwoofer for 6 years. The Kaptions I bought shortly after buying the car 4 months ago. Though its not meant to be a competition set up, I did get it tested and it hit a clean 115 db. Yeah...I know...not whole heck of a lot, but still respectable for such a small system.

it's all about sound quality to me. a 240sx at least an s13 is not a vehicle that will be an spl machine unless you rip the back seat out and go crazy.

Nothing I like better than people asking me what I'm running for a system, and then see the look on their face when they realize its so small.

I have a Pioneer Head unit, not sure which one. 6x9 Pioneers in the front and Pioneers in the rear. The size are the stock size speaker. 4x6 ish or something like that. 2 12" LA subs with a 750 watt LA amp.

I got a 92 240 sx se. I got it not to long ago and it included 700 watt amp and box and 2 12' blue canadian made subs ( The name's on the back so i forget) i got a basic sony deck but i'm looking into new deck's for sure. To be honest i'm not sure what's in my doors or in the back wether its' stock or not but when me and my friend installed the deck and the amp hookup and the subs the car sounded amazing... i always wanted a car that bumped and it sounds great. And it's not like abnoxiously loud like tons of distortion can't even hear the lyrics kind of loud. It's perfect. It bumps so nicely. The box was custom made to fit perfectly in the trunk. Obviously there's no room in the back but i wouldn't trade those subs in for the world...

This threads probably dead but oh well , i used to be SO into audio. Right now i have a pioneer head unit, four infinity reference speakers in a box, and maybe all the stock speakers, im not sure, i bought the car with all the audio in it, it does the job for me but im thinkin about getting some mid bass drivers. When i had my honda(r.i.p). i was ALL about audio first i had dual 12'' alpine subs in a ported box powered by a ****ty kenwood amp with a kenwood head unit. and two kicker speakers. got rid of the subs and amp and got dual audiobahn 12's ran by a 2300hct amp. 2400 watts rms, one of the loudest cars in my town. i kinda miss it. but yeah. thanks. hah.

TC Sounds makes awesome stuff. Unfortunately they got rid of their DB500 line(not enough profit in them).

The Focals are the lowly Access series. I'm not rich enough to be able to drop $1k for a set of car speakers

i was looking at the tc3000 for this big us 400x i had but even with the quest alternator it would too much current draw to run for very long.I know the focals are an arm and leg. I really love my quarts.I have the q series from 8 or 9 years ago when they were still good. They were new when i got them about 6 months ago.
