It was the "old Corps" then. We used serial numbers. Mine was 2373988. A sergeant (e-5) on discharge in '70 I got out x6 mos early after returning from Vietnam. Boot @ Dago. I was trained as a ground radio tech; spent further x1 year @ Dago in tech school. About 18 mos @ 29 Stumps doing commo for EOD w/test firing all kinds of artillery and gas/napalm/vapor bombs that exploded w/the aid of compressed air-never used in Nam-too cruel. Then to Vietnam and FLC, N. of Danang. There I did commo and was a squad leader of a prov rifle squad; firing and taking my shots in anger. Then back home 13 mos later and back out on the street. Still working the transition...
