Kinda disappointed to see you left out Alumapro, Audiobahn, Image Dynamics and A/D/S, all outstanding SQ subs. Jensen nor Bazooka deserve to be on that list.

My whole family is a JL fan, thats all we get, the subs and amps, but then after that comes the Q series from MB Quart fro the speakers, those make you cry, the highs are that nice.

What!! No votes for Legacy??!! I mean so what that they are probably made in the cheapest factory in China with the cheapest parts available and by workers making 47 cents an hour. They are really good for woofer tossing contests at sound offs. ;)

I'm just curious to who actually put a vote up for Sony. I mean how secure do you think a system named Xplod could possibly be? and where is Blaupunkt? if you're going to name MTX and Sony might as well put the flea market brands up there :pface Anyways I would go with SPL's new subs definitly

I'm with u repo man. I use 2 soundstream SPL dual voice coil 12's. I've had them longer than I've had any other sub and they just won't die, lol.

Hey, There is nothing wrong with MTX. Just because they can be bought retail and at CC doesnt really mean **** in my book as it is the only decent thing they carry. MTX doesnt claim outrageous numbers for their amps like sony does, and in fact put numbers rated less then they produce, and always have as long as I can remember.

Plus Mitek (also owners of xtant which no one has a problem with) is a great company in my eyes, and tracked me down and answered my question via email that no one else did on one board even though I didnt ask them. It was actually an employee that saw it, emailed another employee then forwarded it to me... They have damn fine droducts, and coustomer service on par with the best of best companies. When I fired my amp the tech was very patient and gave me all the specs of each parts on the pcb I asked of, in hopes to fix it myself. And when that didnt work I asked about the delay and they said when not busy they could turn it around in a day.

But sadly until their new line (debuted at CES this year) of subs I would never say their sub line was even close to a favorite. Their amps yes but not the subs... But the new line does look rather promising.

BTW even though my ED e10kd2 is nice, my fav subs had to be my BA pro 12.5s I had a cpl yrs back....

HAHA yeah besides the whole price issue...

My ED 10k is a very nice sub especially for the money. I took it out once again tonight so that I might finally finish an install. Its in a rock solid .55 cube enclosure. By rock solid I mean its 3/4" 13 ply birch, glued with 100% polyurethane glue, then wrapped in a layer of fabmat (a fiberglass mat consisting of 24oz roving stiched to a 1.5 - 2 oz mat, that soaked up about 40oz of resin and is 1/8" thick a layer). The glass weighed as much as the box did alone... But its rock solid. I could use it as a jack stand if I wanted / needed to one day I would imagine :)

Im currently finishing up the trim so that the grill is stealth and flush into the box which should blend into the trunk lines somewhat decently.

The thing is I got it in after having just my front stage for 2 yrs due to weight issues (had 2 BA pro 12.5's with 450wts rms to each with the same type of box construction hehe). I got the 10 to ballance it out but sorta have the bug comming back. It sucks as I only have a ten but it plays damn loud and low, but its like having a taste of boost. But using my better judgement I wont go louder or ported as it would require alot more time and money and too much weight :)

While compairing the single 10 to dual 12's, isnt really fair I can say its one of the best 10's Ive gotten ahold of (and didnt purposely smoke) in its range.

arrrgg nice one 96'se. that thing plays damn loud. Ive never used 10's before ive used a single 15(kicker l7) 2 12's(shivas then ek12's) and 3 12's(shiva again) Shiva is my perfered sub but i really cant fit them in this car due to the fact that they take up a HUGE amount of space. in my next car im thinking maybe dual brahma but thats a ton o' cash

From what I've personally been exposed to.. Jl's w6 and kicker's l7's got to be the one's to go with for low's.. Pricing may be the issue though.. Like the w7 goin for around 800 for a 13.5 .. Dunno.. Why don't you guys incorporate pricing with replies?

Those are serious subs diamond.. Did you check out ayjay's custom dd enclosure.. Nice job Where can I get any of these and at what cost? What "unbridged" amp/s are you using to power these ? Also , for the price, what kind of lifetime can you expect out of these .. If you were to run them at 2200continuous?

oh ya,ajays doing great, lookin good.actually i got 5 custom made zapcos.2 9.0c2k's 2200 watts.and 3 ck2 n6.0's that have a third more power.270 watt a channel, like for tweets and mids.man,he would play likee queensrite at 120-140 d.b.s,full range,****..you cant go buy these amps.they were made for a worldclass car, concert car 240.belonging to scott buwalda.hes a mod for carsound and is an iasca officer.ive had the pleasure of him judging my car before.and they are warrenteeded, like new.adire is n.of seattle,i dont know the address, ive been there to see demo's/.d.d. is in oregon, been a little while and a few strokes hard timeremembering the price..much better than getting an w7.for the money.i saw 4 dd 15's hit 169.8.altho not the s.q. choice.brahma would be.idq makes some nice subs for the price...its not what you got,its what you do with it.as i start to feel better and i get closer to my new install,i will be researching, been off 2 year.i need toget with it again.sometime

You've been off! I've been out for several years now.. I got this whole pool league thing going on and its been taking a lot of my time +plus work and other shiat...

Well, diamond , in your opinion.. I've been having a lot of discussion with victor over from soundstream and was thinking of a hybrid car with them and another audio pioneer for sponsorship.. I have 2 soundstream amps . 1 reference and 1 sa.. You're take on the soundstream subs?? Or anyone else's that have used them out there?? I was considering picking up the spl's but haven't heard them..

My second would be the brahmas for the s.q of course

Not sure if I ever weighed in on this thread, so I'll add ...

McCauley.

This should come as no surprise to anyone that frequents the Car Audio Forum.
