what is wrong with this cars head

alright ive spent the better part of my day on the internet trying to figure out this problem ive been to the faqs ive checked the little white box next to the fuses..I just recently changed out my dash for a new one, the just cracked after a week, i originally installed the wires on the back of the hud backwards, the black plug with the white one, and i was blowing fuses, go figure...pulled it out and noticed the problem and corrected the order...dash lights worked perfectly....then last night they shut off...I drifted a corner and looked down and they were out...i checked the fuse and it was blown....i exchanged it with a 30amp and it stayed on for about a minute and blew again....since then it just blows fuses as soon as the lights turn on...ive pulled the dash apart and lokked for burns nothing to my eye...also the little white box looked fine no burns nothing.....oh my taillights are also dead due to this problem....i know that this seems pretty common but someone please help maybe im looking over something

Sounds like you have a bare wire somewhere in the circuit causing it to blow. You just have to check the wires till you find it. Work from the blown fuse backwards and trace them out.

if it happens when the lights come on, id check all the bulbs, i had a bad bulb blow fuses like crazy in a truck that i have-Paul

i finally figured it out... it turns out the *** who installed my stereo left a bunch of bare wires. one was practically welded to the ground right behind the stereo...works fine now
