Former Q freak checking in on existing Q freaks.

The 740 is running great. Had my first major issue - blew up the CV joint on the driveshaft. Clank, clank, clank. Yanked it out, sent it to CA for a rebuild and the car is running fine. DIY job.

My old 91Q is still running strong with the new owner.

I read some threads beating up on BMWs...come on now! :pface

I have to admit that I have yet to develop a serious attachment to my BMW. Perhaps it is a bit too refined. The Q had some rawness to it that was a lot of fun. I will probably sell the BMW for a G35 down the road. We'll see.

I will say, however, the Q would not hang with the BMW in turns or braking. The BMW is awesome in these categories.

Anyhow...hope all is well in Q'dome. Too hot here in AZ to drive the cars hard. Don't want to overtax the systems when the thermometer is reading 116.

Good to hear from you again, Jed!

For those of you who don't know, Jed had a SWEET 91 Q... He got the itch (working in a big fancy-pants high-rise) to keep up with the Joneses, so he swapped out for a big black bimmer.

But it's like he said - While the bimmer's got the edge in handling and braking, it's got no SOUL.

He'll be first in line to buy Quella when she goes on the block... :D

I'm still waiting to go for a tear in the new ride, BTW - Maybe after it cools off a little?

Good to hear from you Hitman. We'll go for a spin once it cools off. No fun in the heat.

Wife got a minivan (Odyssey) last night...hopefully she won't back in the the BMW like she did the Q. Extra bonus with the van is no swinging doors to dent my car.

Hope Quella is running well..sounds like she is.

Later..

PS ...talking about fast cars...by bro-in-law just got a new 911 TT..1 week after our vacation in FL ended! At least I got to drive his older 911 turbo (92). Talk about pull....
