What is this thing?

Radiator has a crack in it...need to remove it so really quick...what is this black sponge looking thing? Is it ok to remove? I know its a stupid question but oh well....( not the drain tube ) here are two pics....Thanks guys...

just some foam padding. prob used to keep the radiator from vibrating on and/or hitting the rad support, it also seems to direct air tword the radiator and not letting the air escape over the top. i dont see a prob with just removing it. i got rid of it when i replaced my rad support.

You can remove it, but I would keep it.

It helps direct air through the radiator(possibly among other things). You'd probably be fine without it, but the more air flowing through the radiator, the better.

It helps with cooling and makes it look a lot cleaner. I took mine off at first then replaced it with home door jam insulation.

It's there to soak-up fluids like beer that placed on the core support while your working, works great for coffee. Soaks blood too after you cut your self bumping into things in the bay.....

Yea ill probably end up getting a new one...or something to replace it...the one that was in my car is shot lol...sobbing wet.
