I looked around a little and can't find out what it is. I just installed a weber and I broke 2 of the 3 connectors on it trying to get the old vacuum lines off. I have no way to plug it now but it seems to run fine without it plugged.

That "thing" is the thermal vacuum valve (T.V.V.) and you can see it plugs into the intake manifold. Therefore, it has a vacuum and is (but in your case was) connected to a . . . . yes . . . . a vacuum hose.
You have 2 choices.
1. Remove it and plug the manifold hole with a suitable threaded metal plug.
2. Leave it there and seal off the holes. Use a rubber hose that will slide over the end and fits tightly enough to seal it or plug the holes with epoxy putty. If you plug the holes with something like epoxy putty, you run the risk of it being sucked into the intake manifold and thus into the engine. If it were me, I'd just get some old innertube rubber and wrap it around the T.V.V. a few times and then secure it with some zip ties and forget about it.
