ok sorry guys if this is stupid, but im tired of my car backfiring, and i was looking at my motor and all and i found something disconnected, is the the TPS and is something supposed to go there?

That is the TPS. And yes, something should be plugged into it.

Edit: i looked at my brothers 240 and it looks like something is just covering it, so i dont know if its supposed to be connected or just covered,

Is your car auto? It's part of the TPS only used by automatic cars. Maunual TPS's don't have that plug.
