What is this?

Sorry for the terrible picture, and I may have been able to find these answers in a search if I knew what to call it in the first place.There is a plug/hose on my transmission that is not connected to anything and the other end looks damaged. i was looking to get it fixed but am not sure what exactly it is or even does?

Engine is an RB25DET and I will eventually put it into an S13.



The place it is coming out of is to the left a bit.

Also, I found this and the rubber hose (with tons of holes...) on top of my valve cover near my throttle. Not sure exactly what this is or why it wasn't connected to anything...

first one is the breather vent line for the transmission. it doesnt connect anywhere, just needs to be left open to the air

2nd one is just some random protective sheath that goes over vacuum or fuel line. don't worry about it
