i finnaly figured out were the tach wire goes to it goes to this right herein the wiring harness.

you see how it has a cap on it, mine does not have a cap on it, maybe thats why my tach does not work. can someone also check the voltage on it and tell me what it is please thx

so your getting the same volts on either side? What Cluster do you have? Also have you checked the internal plug to see if you tach wire was wired in correctly?

umm... thats just a single prong diagnostic plug in connector... that one with the yellow wire with red stripe is just a tach signal wire.... when i did my custom harnes i just clipped thedamn thing off at the ecu, and connected it from the ecu block to the dash connector... it is a goofy design but the wire actually heads out toward the engine bay and splits and heads back toward the ecu and goes up the dash wiring, so when you omit this wire you have to connect the dash block directly to the blue ecu block. you do NOT need it to head out to the engine bay. mine works fine. dang i wish i took pictures of my wiring process

the wire goes from the engine bay connector into the ecu block.. but it has a wire spliced to it about 18 inches from the ecu block that follows alongside it and goes out to the dash connector.... so in other words... the thing in the engine bay is pointless... just make sure you have a good connection btwn the yellow w/red wire on the ecu block and the dash block.

so basically you saying just cut the yellow/red wire from the ecu and splice it in to the yellow/red wire in the dash connector right?
