What is this thing? All I know is that the ECU came with a switch and the that it was tuned by Field with an active rom. Some machanics say its a boost controler or different tuning settings.Any ideas?

I'd guess maybe a high and low boost setting.

plug it in your car and flip the switch, easy as that.

Everything is installed in my car right now. I can't feel or tell the differences on both settings.

When I flip the switch, all I see is the red LED on and off.

Could be a switch to control switching between a race map and street map. I've seen some rom's that allow you to program two maps onto them and switch back and forth.

It is most likely a difference between fuel maps... one for race gas and one for street gas or something of the sort. My ECU came like that tuned by KS rom with a switch also. One of the rom's gave me more agressive fuel maps and no limits... I say flip it and check out your rev limits. More than likely one might go past the stock ecu rev limit... I am sure both have had the speed limitors removed like mine did.
