I have a KA SOHC and it over heated today. I found the leak but do not know what it is. Its the metal pipe in the pic i am pointing to w/ the screwdriver. It had a heater hose that makes the shape of a U as you can see and goes into the thermostat housing (i believe thats what it is).

Can i just pull the hose off the thermostat housing and cap it off? It looks like all this is for is to cool the intake. Any help would be awesome!! Thanks alot. Need to get this fixed for school tonight!!

why not just replace the line?

Ive never seen that line caped off before. I think its required for the cooling system

The part that sprunk a leak is the metal pipe which i believe is pressed into the intake manifold. I would have to remove or replace the entire intake manifold. I dont care if the intake runs a little hotter. this is my beater car but i need it to get from a to b

Its off to the side where it connects to the hose. Its not easy to get to.

Heres one of two things i came up with, JB weld the hole then slide the hose further onto the pipe to seal it up, 2: Cut the 90* off the pipe, insert a straight section into the hose, then get a 90" rubber hose to go onto it. That should work.
