What is this slot in the glove box?

Hi, new here. Does anyone happen to know what this slot is on the left side of the glove box? This is a 2014 Rogue SV. Looks like something should fit in there but I don't know what.

I suspect that it's for your registration, insurance card, etc. My previous generation 2008 Rogue had a similar slot.

Can't see it because there's no light bulb inside the box. :mad: :wtf2:
