what is this sensor on my rb25det M/T????? help plz.

I have a rb25det to put in my 240 and I was looking at the trans and noticed a sensor several inches behind where the clutch slave should be (didn't come with one, long story). the bolt for it is rounded off and the wires are not attached. Thanks I dont know If I am going to need to take it out and replace it or what.
