Can you buy steering wheel controls? Seems like something I could add-on.JOhnbarra wrote:I think this is for the steering wheel sound controls.
It could also be for the iPod connection that Nissan offers. Not sure though.barra wrote:I think this is for the steering wheel sound controls.
Hmmm, if it is for the ipod adapter, how do you switch to the ipod input when the ipod is hooked up? The base radio doesn't have an AUX button or anything.John
Well, I don't have any AUX button, nor any other button that would seem to activate that port. I am inclined to agree with you Shadow. BUT...why would there be a port there that is inactive? Surely there is SOMETHING that it can be used for.Shad0wXCalibur wrote:That port is mostly likely useless and doesn't actually function given that it's the crappy single disc base radio...
My guess is to cut cost. For example (and I just remembered this), I have that same plug on my SL 6-disc radio. There is something plugged in it. The only thing that it could be plugged in there for is to control the speed volume feature (speed signal). I'm sure the base and SL radio use the same circuit board (plugs and all) but on the base radio, they are non functioning.jangelj wrote:Well, I don't have any AUX button, nor any other button that would seem to activate that port. That is a very good point. I forgot about that because I turned mine off the second I drove off of the lot. I don't like having the stereo get louder or quieter based on my speed and loudness from the engine. Although it is a pretty nifty little feature I suppose.Shad0wXCalibur wrote:

actual the speed sensor wire is attached to the main radio harness. Why do I know that? I installed my navigation unit and I needed the VSS wire which that wire is used for to control the volume when driving faster.Codelicious wrote:
