what is this piece? tried searching but dont really know what to search for...

what is that piece in the red square? and will it affect my idling by any chance???

Two diff people.With the same problem.

I actually, come to think about it, used the same pic for a different piece, but never considered what that piece is called, considering the hose goes into nothing in my car...

But I figured out what my idling problem was...needs new wires and plugs.

I think it's the PAIR valve, and I also think it may be related to EGR? I know it's an emissions thing, and my car doesn't have it anymore.

AIV. (Air Injection Valve I think?)Disconnect it from your intake box and cap the box off, leave the AIV open or put a breather on it.

It's supposed to help the cat warm up quicker or some such BS, but all it does is leak exhaust into your intake tract.

it actually lets fresh air into your catalytic converter.

Expounded upon.

Still, disconnect that crap. Nissan knew how faulty and problematic the system was, hence the discontinued use of them with the S14.

once again... thanks NICO oh and to disconnect it, basicly just unbolt and yank the whole thing out? anything i need to cap off or anything?

Yea the tube that will be left.... Used a flywheel bolt and hose clamp....
