no, thats the oil pressure sending unit. i just used the plug from my ca and spliced it into the lower harness, not sure if it works at all though. doesnt matter as an autometer sender is going in that very spot.

nab911, the knock sensor is lower down and is white. the plug that goes on it is square. i think its somewhere near the starter and of course, a real pain in the anus to get to.

The oil pressure sensor is at the bottom of the block just behind the alternator

first you tell us the PCV is electrically operated now you tell us the knock is the oil pressure sensor!

THAT is the knock sensor. Oil pressure is by the oil filter mount thing, as was already said..

ok now that the green thing is the knock sensor, how do you wire it up to the harnees???????? Do you need a plug for it if yes where can you get it, and if it can be done by rewiring then what do you hook it up to?

well there should be a plug on your harness. it won't connect to anything else except your knock sensor. i believe there is only one wire running from the plug but farther down it splits to two... i believe... or maybe its two wires the whole time. i could be wrong.

ok i took a look at my et block...and it has the knock sensor....now i have wired the car for the det engine and alot of wires weren't needed to run the car. That wire is in the ELECTRICAL harness of the car, so if i wire it will the signal get to the ecu?. If not any route that is will?

the plug is a part of your lower engine harness that runs up from the transmission. the other end of the plug should come up by your fuse/relay box thingy. its a gray plug with a white and a black wire i believe. Unless it was ripped out or hacked out then you should have the plug. i'll take a picture if i absolutely have to.

Tim, you're dumb. You're really dumb. And if I catch you being dumb, and continuing the spread of misinformation I'll beat you like a red-headed step-child! Then I'll throw you in a cage with a large, female, silver-back gorrilla that's in heat and let her have her way with you. And if that's not enough of a deturrent, I'll take away that gold medal I gave you...

My plug was in the main engine harness, just like the KA-DE knock plug is in the main harness. KA-E has NO knock sensor.

If its not there, get about 3-4 ft of shielded wire and wire it to the ecu.

Dam, I was reading through this post and I was wondering how come float_6969 hasn't replied to Tims misinfo, but give it some time and he sure will beat him down, I would like to see both Tim and float_6969 in a wrestling match. That would be sweet

Do you have to hook it up directly or something? I have the plug for it on my CA harness. I just can't hook it up with the stock plug from the CA harness? I looked at the CA18DET FSM and seem like only 1 wire and goes pin 23. Do i need to cut it and make a new wire that goes directly to pin 23?
