Over the last year or so, there seemed to be a small oil leak on my daughter's 2009 Rogue.
It was probably 2-3 drops every night. I check the oil every 2500 miles and never had to add oil.
It might be 1/4 from the top of the dipstick full mark when I check it. I fill it to 7/8 full on the dipstick after an oil change.

Well today, when I was getting ready to re-install the sub-frame, I think I see where the oil is coming from, but don't know what it is. This picture is taken from ground looking up above the passenger side CV axle.
Is this repairable( like change the gasket), or what?

Maybe at 4-8 drops a day, maybe don't worry about it?

It's the oil cooler (another beehive, but with plumbing). Very common for the base gaskets to start leaking in old age. See LU-9:

So...
Is is better to replace the gasket when it gets bad enough?
Or is it better to replace the whole thing?

I obviously will replace the hoses while I am at it.

I am thinking to wait til a nice cool day this Fall or next Spring.

I never have any luck with the gaskets on those, I'd say replace it. BUT (big but), try tightening the base screws on the hive portion first. Sometimes they just work loose and tweaking them stops the leak.
