I am still chasing down the source of the water leaking into my M35x which is making the passenger side carpet wet. After cleaning the sunroof drain tubes and replacing the weather stripping I still get water inside. The firewall and padding is quite wet under the passenger side dash so I'm thinking it might be the windshield seal. Anyways, in the process of tracing all the wet spots I see this part on the passenger side kick panel is rusting away from all the water damage. Does anyone know what this part is? Sorry for the blurry picture.

Seems to be the remote keyless entry receiver. Transmits signals from the fob to the Intelligent Key unit.

Ohhh. Well with it being so rusty it's gonna really suck if it randomly stops working. By any chance do you know if I am able to replace that part myself or does it require any programming at the dealership? Thanks Costee!

You should be able to replace yourself. The part number is 28595-EH100. No programming is required.
