What is this part?

1995 infiniti j30

I was replacing my belts when i found this loose tube, maybe someone knows what is is. Its coming out the left side of the engine if (if you are looking at it) the power steering side.

Nope.

It's EGR control valve related and plugs into a hole on the underside of the rubber ducting that's connected to the passenger's side throttle body.

Yep And it does have a tendancy to come loose as the rubber degrades.

Thought I'd found a bad solder connection, but now I'm not so sure. And I haven't yet tested a USB cable connection and different communication settings.

The J30 is really running great, aside from a possibly dirty AAC valve or one that isn't heated properly, as a result of my throttle body by-pass work. As the engine is warming up, the idle speed doesn't drop unless the transmission is in Drive and car is sitting at a COMPLETE stop.

I'll keep you posted. Have you been making good use of yours?
