this is off the timing chain cover and i just want to know what it is called and what it does. i know it is some type of oil sending port but not sure what its called.

heres the outside of it.

and heres the inside of the cover where it gets its oil from

its used to help separate oil out of the air that makes its way up to your pcv valve

That IS the PCV valve...

Positive crankcase vent.

Not PVC...that's pipe.

You need it, but it can be vented...not necessary to route back to the intake manifold, but it was that way from the factory.

does it run into the small tubes that run underneath the intake? or to the top of the intake that say eccs on top of it?
