Ok I would like to make my own intercooler piping, but it would be easiest for me if there was no welding involved. Other than the vacuum nipple for the wastegate, there is only one other outlet coming off of the intercooler piping. It is right in front of the throttle body and connects with a rubber hose to a metal tube that goes under the intake manifold runner. What is it called? This may be stupid but i figure it it worth a shot, can I just put a small breather filter on that tube and leave that out of my intercooler piping? Or would this mess up the fuel delivery due to the unregulated air not passing through the MAFs? I am talking about the tube that is circled in red in the picture below.

Im not too sure but i believe that goes to the AIC air idle controler... its what keeps your car from stalling.... by itself, i do believe it will not work...the engine's rpms will drop to low and will stall... again..not to sure. I think thats why they have that hook up in most of the FMIC kits.

That's your AICV, provides air to the motor while the throttle body is closed. (idle) And yes you need it.
