what is this on my cams?

like the title says. whats all this colored **** on my cams mean?

i think its the way u place them ,if you desesemble the head,something to do with timming and such.... imo

remember this is an s14 engine.

i thought:S13 cams: GREEN intake, ORANGE exhaust S14 cams: ORANGE intake, GREEN exhaust?

i really wouldn't pay much attention to it. BOTH or my cams are painted orange.

orange is exhaust....another way to tell is to look where the cam bolt goes and see how deep it is. The intake cam has a huge bolt for the VTC while the exhaust cam uses the small one.

^ thats true. I seen em with my own 2 eyes. My S14 has orange paint on the intake side.

On a side note that far cam lobe looks kinda borderline chewy. Might wanna pull the rocker arm on that and make sure you don't have a spur on it.
