'06 g35 coupe, just bought with 13k miles...this obviously isn't oem intake. what can you tell me about this aftermarket part..cai? less restricted? i see it has a plug..and a rear hose on it sits a little high, rubbing paint off of the hood of the car in a spot. moving over from being a 25-year older porsche models owner..this is a way newer car than i'm accustomed..sorry, i'll probably ask a lot of silly questions. here it is: [IMG][/IMG] looks like a standard k&n rechargeable filter at the front, down low: [IMG][/IMG] yep, look up at the hood and down at the intake's rubber hose..rubbing..don't know if i can adjust that or not yet: [IMG][/IMG] thanks...again!

NO!!!!

AEM manufacturers their own filters. The one that came with that intake should be an AEM Dry-flo filter. It's a synthetic media that has better filtering capability than a K&N and does not require oiling (I HATE OILED FILTERS!)

Cleaned. AEM sells a cleaning kit, but I'd personally just use some laundry detergent in a 5 gallon bucket with warm water.

I'm SUPER glad you mentioned your intake. I had my hood opened and realized that I installed a clamp wrong and it decided to puncture the underside of my hood
