Trying to find my fluctuating idle problem one morning and to my amazement i see this huge tear in the part in the picture below. Thinking I've solved my idle problem I seal it up with rtv sealant till i get a new one but alas...my idle is not fixed.

so what is this so i can get a new one? thnx

no, whats circled is right in front of the throttle body, it looks like part of your plastic air intake to me, cant see it very good though.

You guys are ALL WRONG!!! It looks like the inverse proton inhibitor GTI version 2 scroll lock Nismo pump. You'll need to calibrate your alpha 6 synergy connection plug in order to have a good idle. Good luck and may the force be with you.

check your MAFS. Make sure the leak is sealed and you don't have any other vaccume leaks in the intake... that peice is a part of you intake... don't know the exact term for it but that has to be sealed good...

hey hey... i got a quote from cherry hill nissan on that throttle body intake boot it was around ~$40.

You can get a used one from a member for $20 shipped. a dude from north NY was gonna shipped one to me, but I don't have any funds right now. When they get an intake upgrade, some just throw it away....

Plus, duct tape is still holding it together for me.

Did you also try adding another ground wire?
